News jeu Elden Ring est-il le meilleur Souls-Like de From Software ? Notre TOP !

9 : Dark Souls II : Scholar of the First Sin (14/20)

PC PS4 ONE PS3 360

From Software : Dark Souls II : Scholar of the First Sin. Ce titre sorti le 2 avril 2015 (soit un an après l’opus initial) rassemblait Dark Souls II et ses 3 DLC, à savoir Crown of the Sunken King, Crown of the Old Iron King et Crown of the Ivory King.

mrderiv

6 : Sekiro Shadows Die Twice (17/20)

PC PS4 ONE Stadia

2 : Elden Ring (18/20)

PC PS5 Xbox Series PS4 ONE

Gary Neville says ‘no one bought’ Roman Abramovich’s statement about his Chelsea ownership and is using the club’s charitable foundation to ‘protect’ himself.

Amid mounting pressure following a call from a prominent MP for Abramovich to be stripped of his assets earlier this week in response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the Chelsea owner released a statement on the club’s website on Saturday saying it would hand over ‘stewardship and care’ to its charitable foundation arm.

There was no mention of what this would mean in practice, whether Abramovich would seek to sell, or any reference to the situation in Ukraine itself, but later on Saturday news began to emerge that there would make little difference in terms of day-to-day management of the club and that Abramovich intended to remain the owner.

Speaking ahead of Chelsea’s Carabao Cup final clash with Liverpool, Neville said sky sports that not only did the statement raise more questions than it answered, but also that its content had “no credibility or substance”.

Sky Sports News chief reporter Kaveh Solhekol explains what Roman Abramovich’s decision to hand over the ‘stewardship and care’ of Chelsea to the club’s charitable foundation means for the club.

He said: “When we saw that statement, my first feeling was, it wasn’t suspicion, but it was ‘what is this? Then when you start to read the language you realize that was a meaningless statement, that it has no force behind it and the only question we want Roman Abramovich to answer, if he is going to speak, is “does he condemn the war or does he support the war against Ukraine?

“From my point of view, looking at this, to say that the trustees of the Chelsea charity are going to be in charge of Chelsea Football Club is ridiculous. Piara Powar, who started Kick It Out, John Devine, Emma Hayes, Bruce Buck – they’ll never run Chelsea Football Club, they won’t run Chelsea Football Club.

“Chelsea is a limited liability company, owned by Roman Abramovich, which has directors. There is no way to hand over control to a group of charity trustees, who, to be fair, should be independent anyway – charities should be independent of a football club.

“So I don’t know why he thought, or his relatives thought it was going to wash up. I was surprised by Roman Abramovich, one of the things he did well in those 20 or so years was to say nothing. By the time he said something, I think he left more questions than answers. »

Chelsea released another, shorter statement on Sunday morning referring, for the first time, to the war in Ukraine, but refrained from condemning the Russian invasion, with the 23-word message stating that “the club’s thoughts were with everyone” in the country.

Jamie Carragher says Chelsea have become “embarrassed” in their handling of the situation surrounding Roman Abramovich’s decision to temporarily withdraw from the club following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Neville asked if the additional correspondence was crafted due to backlash from the original statement, which he said used the Chelsea Foundation as a “shield” for Abramovich’s personal situation.

He said: “It’s PR, it was bad PR. I don’t know if this morning’s statement was planned or if it was on the backs of people who read last night’s statement which was first published and which said that Roman Abramovich was handing over to the Trustees of Charity – that no one has bought.

“I think everyone worked without any credibility or substance. I would have preferred Roman Abramovich to come out and say that I am a Russian national, that I own Chelsea Football Club and will continue to own Chelsea Football Club. The charity trustees of Chelsea are not running the football club, the managers and trustees will be under the leadership of Roman Abramovich.

“What he’s done is try to use the charity as a shield, which I don’t think is impressive as a leader. These people on this board didn’t sign up to be used by Roman Abramovich in a crisis, they signed up to work on a charity board to help with their foundation, not to be used as a shield telling everyone they run the football club because they clearly aren’t. »

What did Abramovich say?

In a rare statement from Abramovich on Saturday evening, the Chelsea owner said: “In my almost 20 years as owner of Chelsea FC, I have always considered my role as the club’s caretaker, whose job it is to ensure what we are doing as well as we can be today, as well as building for the future, while playing a positive role in our communities.

“I have always made decisions in the interests of the club. I remain attached to these values. That is why I today entrust the trustees of the Chelsea Charitable Foundation with the management and care of Chelsea FC.

“I think they are currently in the best position to defend the interests of the club, the players, the staff and the supporters. »

Thomas Tuchel says Chelsea’s statement on the Ukraine crisis included club owner Roman Abramovich.

Speaking ahead of the Carabao Cup final, Chelsea technical adviser Petr Cech, the Czech Republic’s most capped player in history – who said he would refuse to play against Russia if he was drawn in the next World Cup play-offs – took the floor. to say that the thoughts of everyone at the club were with the stricken nation.

He said: “We cannot deny that there is conflict and war in Europe, I think every human being will have their thoughts with those affected and it is the same in our club.

“We obviously hope that the situation will be resolved as soon as possible. We try to prepare for the match as normally as possible, the players the same way but it’s a distraction – not only for the players but for people all over the world. »

Carragher: Abramovich’s statement is ‘poor and embarrassing’

Sky Sports’ Jamie Carragher has slammed both Chelsea and Abramovich’s statements about the owner handing over stewardship of the club, saying they had “done themselves wrong”.

Carragher criticized Chelsea’s handling of the situation, saying “they embarrassed themselves”.

“I don’t think they handled it very well. With the few statements they made. I think it’s really poor and they let it down badly.

“The club came out today and released a statement, but I think they were almost trying to rectify what Roman Abramovich had released the night before. I don’t think they did well either. It didn’t work out well for them at all, I think they embarrassed themselves. »

A devout evangelical Christian, Condé sees his divine mission as being strong in the aftermath of disaster so that others can lean on him. He says he was commanded by God to offer comfort, compassion and help to others and, using his faith and scriptures, to help heal the affected community.

“’Whoever you see needs help, you will help them. I keep you on your feet, ”said Condé, who told him that the Lord had told him. “God gives me the right words to bring encouragement to anyone who needs it. »

One day, about a week after the landslide, he was walking through the streets when he came across a shirtless man he knew. They had lost a mutual friend, and Condé threw his arms around him. For a moment, they rested their heads on each other’s shoulders.

Across the street, Condé spotted another man, Adalto da Silva. On the day of the slide, da Silva was with his 21-year-old son when the mud caught them; the son was taken away. On the descent, da Silva’s wife had tried to keep their 6-year-old daughter safe between her legs, he said; their bodies were found in the mud, still in this embrace.

Condé sat da Silva in a chair, then knelt in front of him and held his shoulders. They talked for a long time, looking into each other’s eyes, and Condé told her that he felt her pain. Da Silva cried.

There’s always someone else who needs comfort: Landslides on February 15 destroyed dozens of homes in Sierra Heights and killed more than 200 people across the city.

Condé is a tireless man, always on the move. Keeping busy keeps him from being idle, which would be like dwelling on his own grief.

Before the disaster, he worked in a screen printing workshop with his childhood friend Thiago das Graças, whom he considered closer than a brother. There was also his current brother, Ivan, and Condé’s eldest son, Kaíque, 18, who was working for his first job and happily saving for a car.

They were all together at the store the day 10 inches of rain poured over Petropolis in just three hours, the heaviest downpour in 90 years of record keeping. When the rain calmed down a bit, Condé rushed home. Kaíque stayed behind, watching football on his phone with his uncle.

At home, Condé heard a rumble like thunder and then a roar, louder and closer. The metal roof started rattling and he rushed outside. A wall of dirt was heading towards him, carrying tree trunks, rocks, roofing and rebar. Condé crouched down and prepared, thinking, “I’m going to die buried. »

But the torrent passed a few steps from the house. What had only moments before been a dense group of multi-storey houses was now a large muddy gash strewn with wreckage. Condé ran to the workshop and discovered that he had also been swallowed.

Researchers pulled Kaíque’s body from the mud two days later, and Condé threw himself into the service of others.

This included daily visits to another shelter where a friend who was severely injured by the slip was staying.

Recently, sitting on the floor and leaning against the wall, the friend could barely move his legs. Blood rubbed off a bandage on his head. Condé helped him into a wheelchair so he could be taken to the bathroom.

“Every day I come here to help,” Condé said. “I cannot stay at the shelter (where his family is). There I will begin to remember my son.

It was only when he came home at night, walking alone, that he allowed himself access to the pain, and he remembered that three passers-by had once seen him cry. Approaching the shelter, he took deep breaths to steady himself, then stepped inside to be with his family.

When the morgue called to say that Kaíque’s body had been cleared for release, Condé went there to meet his wife, Gabriela. Friends expressed their condolences as the car drove past heavy machinery still digging into areas buried by the landslide.

He scrolled through his phone with photos of Sierra Heights residents who were lost: Mrs. Selma who had practically raised neighborhood boys of her generation. Solange and Eli, who hosted barbecues. His brother, his best friend.

Arriving at the morgue, Condé reassured his destitute sister-in-law that Kaíque had obeyed the commandments of the Lord and thus obtained salvation. He shared the same thoughts with the funeral service representative during the preparations for the burial.

“I believe that his faith, his prayers and his willingness to help his fellow man left helpless like him kept him strong,” Rep. Elisangela Gomes later said. “There was no one more trusting in God than Mr. Alex. »

At the cemetery, Condé remained collected as he carried the coffin up a steep hill of sparse grass and fresh graves. Lowering Kaíque into the ground, he turned away and closed his eyes. He put his arm around his wife’s shoulder, and they stood in reverence for a few minutes. He thanked Kaíque for the time they had spent together.

The following night at a friend’s house, Condé felt God’s presence and wept shamelessly – “to wash the soul”, he said.

Condé brought his youngest son, 14-year-old Piter, back to Sierra Heights one last time. He wanted the boy to see the aftermath of the landslide and where Kaíque had died.

They passed a woman dragging a mattress, and Condé put a hand on her arm. Those who are baptized will be saved, he told the woman, and urged her to turn to God for strength.

“My God keep me on my feet. He … is very strong,” Condé told him. “And who am I to question the sovereignty of God? Me, a mere mortal, that He put here, and I’m going to complain or wonder what He did? What the believer needs is certainty of salvation.

Then Condé shouldered the woman’s mattress and carried her burden down the hill.

Call of Duty: the end of annual releases from 2023?

This is a subject that was put on the table with the announcement of the takeover of Activision Blizzard by Microsoft: what if Call of Duty no longer came out every year? Since 2005, the franchise has never missed its fall appointment, each year dominating the ranking of best sellers in the United States and in a good part of the globe. It will make a comeback at the end of 2022 with a new Modern Warfare and a new Warzone experience, both of which will be led by Infinity Ward. In contrast, Treyarch’s game that was supposed to be released in 2023 would not finally arrive until 2024.

This is reported by journalist Jason Schreier from Bloomberg. According to his sources, the disappointing sales of Call of Duty: Vanguard would have prompted Activision to review its schedule, some company executives now believe that the releases follow one another too quickly. Keeping up with this annual cadence seems to be more and more difficult since the release of Warzone in March 2020, which must constantly be supplied with updates, increasing the workload of developers who are constantly under pressure.

The feeling I’ve heard from the folks at Treyarch is that they’re extremely excited about having another year of development. Back in 2019, I wrote an article that talked in part about how hard they had to stick to the rushed schedule of Black Ops 4. Here it’s the reverse situation. Jason Schreierjournalist at Bloomberg.

From a business point of view, the absence of a new Call of Duty in 2023 will have a huge impact on the market. Some publishers will no doubt see it as a window of opportunity to launch a new multiplayer FPS and thus satisfy the appetite of many fans of the genre. But obviously, the Call of Duty license will not disappear from the radar for a year. Activision will be able to bank on the next Modern Warfare and give it a longer post-launch follow-up than usual, not to mention “the massive evolution of Warzone” and the new Call of Duty mobile game in the works. Bloomberg also mentions the arrival of another “new free-to-play online title” next year, without further details for the moment.

For its part, Activision simply said the following in response to this rumor: “We have a range of free-to-play and premium content of exciting Call of Duty experiences for this year, next year and beyond”.

Guardians of the Galaxy sales below Square Enix’s expectations

Call of Duty, LEGO, Nintendo... the business news of the week

Released last October on PC, PlayStation and Xbox, the game Guardians of the Galaxy developed by Eidos Montreal has generally won over a good part of critics and players, as evidenced by its score. Metacritic or even its 95% of positive evaluations on Steam. However, this did not translate into commercial success, at least in the eyes of its publisher Square Enix.

“Despite excellent reviews, sales of the game at launch were below our initial expectations”can we read in a recent report on the financial results of the Japanese firm. “However, the commercial initiatives we launched in November 2021 and extended into the new year have resulted in increased sales, and we intend to continue our efforts to offset this slow start.”, also indicates the document. After Marvel’s Avengers, this is the second game based on the popular super-heroic license that does not meet Square Enix’s objectives. The Guardians of the Galaxy game stood out for its 100% single-player structure and was particularly praised for its narrative qualities, but it undoubtedly suffered from the reputation of its predecessor or from insufficient communication.

Despite this disappointment, Square Enix is on its way to completing a record fiscal year. The publisher achieved a turnover of 2 billion euros and a net profit of 302 million euros between April and December 2021. During these nine months, 29.45 million games stamped Square Enix were distributed worldwide through releases like Outriders, NieR Replicant, Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade, Life is Strange: True Colors and Guardians of the Galaxy. The publisher was also able to count on the colossal success of the MMO Final Fantasy 14 Endwalker and its mobile games.

TT Games and Warner Bros exclusivity on Lego games ends

Call of Duty, LEGO, Nintendo... the business news of the week

Since 2005, TT Games has exclusively developed Lego games. The British studio, bought by Warner Bros. in 2007, chained the productions and adapted many popular licenses like Harry Potter, Star Wars, The Lord of the Rings and Marvel with Lego sauce. But this exclusive partnership will end and will not be renewed according to VGC sources. The site reports that the Danish brand has signed with 2K Games for the production of several Lego sports games, including a football game developed by Sumo Digital (Sackboy: A Big Adventure) and an open-world racing game by Visual Concepts (NBA 2K). The first would be released this year around the 2022 World Cup, which will take place from November 21 to December 18, while the second would be scheduled for 2023.

What about TT Games? The studio of Warner Bros. would still have a Lego game in the program after LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, which will be released on April 5, 2022 after several delays and production under trying conditions for its developers, as revealed by a recent investigation by polygon. Beyond that, it is not yet certain that TT Games will continue to work on Lego games. But if so, it won’t be exclusive. This situation is reminiscent of the Star Wars license. Electronic Arts is no longer the only one able to work on it, but that does not prevent the American publisher from having new Star Wars games in preparation. Finally, remember that Warner Bros. also lost the film rights to the Lego license in 2020, which were transferred to Universal.

Dontnod takes stock of its projects: eight productions in progress, including six in-house

Call of Duty, LEGO, Nintendo... the business news of the week

Dontnod multiplies the projects. The French firm released a communicated to take stock of its year 2021 and its areas of development, while announcing that it has signed a new co-production with the Belgian team of Studio TOLIMA.

Dontnod now has eight titles in the works, including two developed by partner studios. That of Studio TOLIMA therefore, which was founded in 2022, and Gerda: A Flame In Winter from the Danish studio PortaPlay. Regarding the six projects developed internally, none have been unveiled for the moment, but they are all expected on the market between 2022 and 2025.

We also know that Dontnod, known for its narrative games, wants “strengthen its production capacity in the buoyant action-RPG segment” starting with a certain ‘”Project 8″ co-produced by Focus Entertainment. We can assume that it is a sequel to Vampyr, released in 2018 and published by Focus. It was a great success with more than two million sales, not counting the 8 million downloads when it was offered on the Epic Games Store. “This co-production, which will be definitively amortized on December 31, 2021, constitutes the studio’s greatest financial success to date alongside Life is Strange 1. Dontnod thus reaffirms its ability to develop successful intellectual properties”, the statement said. The firm will also “continue its deployment in Montreal with the creation of a multi-project center with a strong narrative component carried by the creators of Life is Strange””.

The press release finally discusses the performance of Twin Mirror, which was released on Steam on December 1, a year after its launch on the Epic Games Store and consoles. “”Thanks to an economic model mastered since the acquisition of the intellectual property from Bandai Namco in 2018, Dontnod has managed to cover 75% of its investments on the project”, we are told. Tell Me Why, which was published by Microsoft, is not mentioned.

Nintendo buys long-time partner SRD studio

Call of Duty, LEGO, Nintendo... the business news of the week

Nintendo announced the acquisition of SRD (Systems Research and Development) for an undisclosed sum. A formality more than anything else: this shadow studio had already worked exclusively with Nintendo since its founding in 1979. As the communicatedthe main objective is to “secure the availability of studio resources for Nintendo” in addition “to improve development effectiveness”.

As of April 2021, SRD had 139 employees. Led by Toshihiko Nakago, the Kyoto-based studio (like Nintendo) appears in the credits of older titles like Donkey Kong (1983), Super Mario Bros. (1985) and The Legend of Zelda (1986). Recently, SRD has worked on Switch games like Super Mario Maker 2, Animal Crossing New Horizons, Ring Fit Adventure, and more recently The Video Game Workshop.

This acquisition is reminiscent of that of Next Level Games, again a long-time Nintendo partner. The Japanese giant had decided to buy the studio responsible for Luigi’s Mansion 3 and Mario Strikers Battle League Football in January 2021 to prevent it from being bought by another company.

Exeter Chiefs flyhalf Joe Simmonds was accurate off the tee and rewarded his side

Joe Simmonds’ last-minute penalty saw Exeter Chiefs beat Northampton Saints 34-31 in a thrilling match at Franklin’s Gardens to advance to the Gallagher Premiership play-offs.

Simmonds’ exemplary goal kicks were a feature of the game, but once again the Saints will regret their inability to finish games when they looked in control when they were up 28-17.

However, a yellow card for scrum-half Alex Mitchell ultimately proved decisive.

Josh Hodge, Jack Yeandle, Dave Ewers and Olly Woodburn scored for Exeter’s tries, with Simmonds kicking two penalties and four conversions.

Northampton tries came from Matt Proctor, Tom Collins and Juarno Augustus. James Grayson threw three penalties and two conversions with Piers Francis adding a penalty.

Gallagher Premiership Matchday 18 Results

Bristol Bears 31-19 Wasps
Worcester Warriors 21-29 Harlequins
Sale Sharks 27-27 London Irish
Leicester Tigers 35-23 Gloucester Rugby
Newcastle Falcons 25-30 Bath Rugby
Northampton Saints 31-34 Exeter Chiefs

Exeter looked to have taken the lead in the eighth minute when Tom O’Flaherty intercepted a pass from Fraser Dingwall.

O’Flaherty then ran 75 yards to touchdown, but TMO replays ruled out the try for Sam Maunder’s earlier obstruction of Alex Coles.

Grayson kicked the resulting penalty, but it was quickly canceled out by Simmonds’.

Saints full-back George Furbank then took his second break of the game to put the Exeter defense on the back foot but, with the line beckoning, Proctor was unable to collect the scoring pass.

However, the hosts managed to keep the pressure on and a second penalty from Grayson gave them a 6-3 lead at the end of an equally contested first quarter.

Exeter Chiefs move up to fourth in the Gallagher Premiership table

Exeter were first on the try scoresheet when they moved the ball with precision along their three-quarter line to put Hodge in the clear and the full-back had an unopposed 45-yard run to line.

Simmonds completed the conversion from the touchline before the Saints scored their first try.

A hard break from Mitchell was the catalyst with Augustus in support to dispatch Proctor.

Minutes later the Chiefs were back in the lead when, after a succession of forward thrusts, Ewers rumbled with Simmonds’ conversion giving them a 17-13 lead.

Less than a minute after the restart, Saints regained the lead when Dingwall passed Simmonds to provide Collins with an easy run. Grayson converted before adding a simple penalty.

Exeter’s miserable start to the second half continued when they quickly conceded a third try after an early touch-in penalty saw Augustus cross.

Grayson missed a straight conversion but the Saints dominated the third quarter to lead 28-17 in the end.

Chiefs’ Santiago Grondona looked to have gotten his team back in contention when he blasted his way through, but after a long delay for TMO replays, the No.8 was deemed to have been retained.

However, the visitors were given a boost when their opponents first lost Mitchell to a yellow card for a deliberate forward, before Yeandle reduced the backlog with a try from close range.

Mitchell was still missing when Exeter scored their bonus points try, as Woodburn recovered a superbly judged cross kick from Simmonds. The outside half then knocked down another excellent sideline conversion.

Mitchell returned in time to see Francis level the scoring with a long-range penalty, but 14 points had been conceded in the scrum-half’s absence and Exeter made that period crucial when Simmonds netted the game-winner.

Exeter Chiefs manager Ali Hepher said: “We’ve lost four games this season with very late scoring, so we owe a few. It was a day of attacks with lots of breaks and in the end our minds took over.

“It’s extremely exciting to go back at this time of year with a young group and get a big win for us.

“We probably should have scored a few more points in that first half, but we didn’t keep the ball long enough,” he added.

“Then, at the start of the second half, we didn’t defend well enough. We called on the bench to reinforce the scrums and our attacking pressure forced the yellow card, which proved to be crucial. »

Mullen designed a maze game that could be played in both virtual reality and conventional formats, then the research team recruited 41 UC Santa Cruz undergraduate students to test the game. Participants played in both formats, with researchers randomizing which version of the game each student started with. Both versions were essentially the same, but the mazes in each varied slightly so that there was no repetition between formats.

Participants were asked to stop playing the game whenever they felt like five minutes had passed. Since there were no clocks available, each person had to make this estimate based on their own perception of the passage of time.

Prior studies of time perception in virtual reality have often asked participants about their experiences after the fact, but in this experiment, the research team wanted to integrate a time-keeping task into the virtual reality experience in order to capture what was happening in the moment. Researchers recorded the actual amount of time that had passed when each participant stopped playing the game, and this revealed a gap between participants’ perception of time and the reality.

The study found that participants who played the virtual reality version of the game first played for an average of 72.6 seconds longer before feeling that five minutes had passed than students who started on a conventional monitor. In other words, students played for 28.5 percent more time than they realized in virtual reality, compared to conventional formats.

This time compression effect was observed only among participants who played the game in virtual reality first. The paper concluded this was because participants based their judgement of time in the second round on whatever initial time estimates they made during the first round, regardless of format. But if the time compression observed in the first round is translatable to other types of virtual reality experiences and longer time intervals, it could be a big step forward in understanding how this effect works.

While there are many informal descriptions of time compression in virtual reality from people who have experienced it first-hand, it’s still an active area of research. One particularly well-known prior study applied virtual reality time compression to shorten the perceived duration of treatment for chemotherapy patients, but that experiment didn’t compare virtual reality with conventional screen formats.

“This is the first time we can really isolate that it’s not just that you’re playing a video game, or the content of whatever you’re seeing,” Mullen said. “It’s really the fact that it is virtual reality versus a conventional screen that contributes to this time compression effect.”

Time compression could be useful in some situations — like enduring an unpleasant medical treatment or passing the time on a long flight — but in other circumstances, it could have harmful consequences.

“As virtual reality headsets get more comfortable to wear for longer periods of time, and as more immersive games are made for this format, I think it would be good to avoid having it become like a virtual casino, where you end up playing more because you don’t realize how much time you’re spending,” Mullen said.

Research on game addiction shows that losing track of time during gameplay can negatively affect a player’s sleep cycle and mood. These effects could be more pronounced in virtual reality, but Mullen says game designers can help to minimize the risk, perhaps by integrating a clock that would appear at regular intervals during gameplay.

It will also be important to discover why virtual reality seems to contribute to time compression. In the paper, Mullen describes one possibility, which relates to the fact that, in virtual reality, a player has less body awareness. Psychology Professor Nicolas Davidenko, a coauthor and advisor on the paper, explained why this might be important.

“In virtual reality, when you look down, you might see nothing where your body normally would be, or you might see a schematic of a body, but it won’t feel like your body,” Davidenko said. “There are theories that we may rely on our heartbeat and other bodily rhythms to help our brain track the passage of time, so if you have a less vivid sense of your body in virtual reality, you might be missing the pulses of this timekeeping mechanism.”

Future experiments to test this theory could yield new insights to help designers maximize benefits and minimize harm from time compression as virtual reality technology continues to grow.

A train station in UKRAINE has been overwhelmed by thousands of desperate refugees as desperate citizens flee war-torn cities across the country.

It comes as the Ukrainian government confirmed that more than 210 Ukrainians were killed – and more than 1,100 injured – during Putin’s invasion.

Meanwhile, the UN said more than 368,000 people have arrived in neighboring countries from Ukraine seeking safety.

Families from across the strife-torn nation have flocked west to escape the fighting.

And yesterday’s huge exodus converged on the Lviv rail hub where we witnessed scenes of disorder amid a rush to the docks.

Fights broke out in the ticket office as seats on all services away from the war zone sold out.

But thousands of refugees continued to stream into the station asking for help as the sound of air raid sirens filled the air across the city.

Children, elderly people dragging bags crossed train tracks trying to board any train out of the war zone as fights broke out in the ticket hall.

Young mum Miliena Zaschitnikova, 21, arrived at the station yesterday with her four-year-old son Max and mum Inna after her husband Andrei joined the soldiers fighting against Russia.

But after boarding a crowded train to Lviv overnight from Zhytomyr, west of the capital Kiev, they found all international train services full.

And they stood shivering outside the station among thousands of people with nowhere to go yesterday as temperatures plummeted.

Miliena told The Sun: “We were hoping to get a train from here to the Czech Republic, but there are no tickets – and we’re stuck in this chaos.

“I bought my little boy a little train for the trip – but it’s the only train he’s going to take today and we have nowhere to stay tonight and no way to escape the war.

“Max’s dad is off to fight the Russians and I promised him we’d get our little boy to safety, but I don’t know how I’m going to do it.

“We try to smile and keep my little boy happy because he’s too young to understand what we’re going through.

The latest in Ukraine…

“Like thousands of other people here, we are living a Vladimir Putin nightmare. »

Tania Yokovchuck, 30, was also stuck outside the train station with no hope of escaping yesterday as she struggled to comfort her crying two-year-old son Karar.

She said: “We came here hoping to escape, but it’s become a dead end – it’s impossible to get train tickets.

“And now I don’t know what to do or where to go and I desperately need to find a place to sleep.

“No one here knows how this will end. »

Desperate grandmother Marrietta Sakova, 76, who fled fighting in the eastern town of Dnipro, told The Sun: ‘There are no train tickets, no petrol for a car – even though we had one and soon we will run out of money to buy food.

“We are desperate to get away from here, but there is simply no way out. »

‘WERE TRAPPED’

Another grandmother, Svetlana, 73, fought back tears as she held her five-year-old grandson David after learning she too was stranded with no tickets available on any route outside the area of war.

She told The Sun: “I have no idea what we’re going to do.

“I’m trying to meet my daughter and take us all to Poland, but there’s no train and like almost everyone here, we have nowhere to stay tonight. »

“All we want is to get David out of the fighting, but we’re trapped. »

Anna Yavorska, 25, fled Kyiv after being told to take her five-year-old niece Dasha to safety.

She told The Sun: “The sound of the bombs was terrifying and I realized very quickly that this was no place for a child.

“I told Dasha’s mother that I would take her to Poland away from the Russians, but having come this far, we are stuck.

“There are no trains to Europe with space and we have nowhere to stay tonight so I have no choice but to keep fighting for a ticket as soon as possible. that it will be available.

“No one would have imagined this could happen even a week ago. How did we get here ?

MEN REMAIN TO FIGHT

Men under the age of 60 are said to be prevented from leaving by authorities and forced to say goodbye to their families.

They will be expected to stay and fight the Russians as they try to take over the main cities of the country.

A witness said: “Families are being forced to make the agonizing decision to separate. The women and children move towards the safe areas while the men stay behind to fight to protect their homes.

“People didn’t really evacuate before the invasion because no one believed Putin would go through with it.

“But now they are finding every possible means of transport to get out – even going to neighboring countries like Moldova. »

Reports say a woman was killed in a crash as thousands lined up at the Polish border to escape Putin’s clutches.

Thousands of people lined up for 24 hours without food or water in temperatures below -4°C, sparking a ‘pandemonium’.

Britain’s Jeremy Myers had been stuck in a crush on his Ukrainian girlfriend – and told how many passed out.

He told MailOnline: ‘There was very little organization and the closer you got to the front the more people were pushing and shoving.

“Every once in a while there were these big surges and people were screaming. There were a lot of young children and it was very dangerous. Creepy.

“Fights broke out as people accused others of pushing or hurting them. People had blood running down their faces. We saw two women fainting and being carried above the crowd.

He added: “There was a strong rumor that someone had been crushed to death – Polish border guards confirmed they had heard it was true. »

And yesterday a child was killed as Russian artillery fire rained down on a Ukrainian children’s hospital, local media reported.

Two other children were injured in the blast that hit the Okhmatdyt National Specialized Children’s Hospital, according to the Kyiv Independent.

Earlier today freedom fighters from around the world were invited to join the Ukrainian army today and take on Putin’s troops.

Ukraine’s foreign minister has appealed to civilians to intervene to prevent their country from suffering further damage.

He called on supporters of Ukraine to take up arms against Russian invaders, like the International Brigades that fought General Franco’s Nazi-backed fascists in Spain on the eve of World War II.

Dmytro Kuleba said: “Together we defeated Hitler, and we will also defeat Putin. »

Anyone who wants to fight the Russians can report to Ukrainian embassies, he said.

Live Feed Samsung conference live: follow the MWC 2022 announcements

MWC 2022 is the largest smartphone show in the world. Samsung, on the other hand, is the biggest seller of smartphones in the world. Inevitably, the Korean giant’s conference at this event is highly anticipated and great announcements are to be expected. Welcome to this live on Sunday February 27, 2022 where Samsung’s big announcements from MWC 2022 will be communicated to you live!

What time is the Samsung MWC 2022 conference?

MWC is obviously an acronym. It means “Mobile World Congress”. Despite the still somewhat unstable health situation, the MWC does take place face-to-face in Barcelona. But what is going on there?

The MWC 2022 schedule has been known for quite a long time now. The conferences extend over 2 days: Sunday February 27 and Monday February 28, 2022.

Tonight at 7 p.m. sharp, it’s Samsung’s turn to come into play. We who are used to publishing content, we tell you: Sunday evening is the strongest slot of the whole week. This is when there is the most traffic on the internet. If Samsung is entitled to this location, it underlines the dominance of the Korean brand in the mobile sector.

Tomorrow, Monday February 28, we will be entitled from 10:30 a.m. to the Realme brand conference. Then, at 1 p.m., it will be Honor’s turn to make her announcements. Finally, the MWC 2022 presentations will end at 2:30 p.m. with the Qualcomm conference, a huge American company that is a pioneer in technological innovations in the mobile device sector.

What are the rumors surrounding Samsung’s MWC 2022 conference?

Today, we meet to talk about Samsung. As you know, Samsung is present in a host of markets ranging from refrigerators to smartphones to 4K TVs.

The MWC is above all a show dedicated to smartphones. It is therefore in this sector that Samsung is particularly expected. Since the new premium Samsung smartphones have just been released, we are talking about the “Samsung Galaxy S” range, here Samsung Galaxy S22, it would be quite logical for Samsung to present its mid-range products, the “Samsung Galaxy A”.

Do not overlook the importance of these models for Samsung! Even though the Galaxy S are the showcase, the brand hasn’t become the world’s biggest seller of mobile phones thanks to fairly expensive high-end products.

The best-selling smartphones in the world are those whose price is around 200 or 300 €. For 3 times cheaper than the very top of the range, these phones still display pretty features that are more than enough for most people.

A priori, we will therefore be entitled to the Samsung Galaxy A13 and A23. Among others.

Samsung seems to have surprises in store for MWC 2022!

Let’s come to the crisp. To tease the date of its conference, Samsung has published a funny image on its networks accompanied by the caption “Samsung Electronics is once again redefining the future of how we work and learn” in “a rapidly changing world”.

In this image, we certainly see smartphones but also, and above all, a connected watch, a folding smartphone, a tablet and… a laptop. This visual is necessarily a good clue to what Samsung has in store for us, and it promises to be intense.

The folding smartphone seems to be a Galaxy Z Flip 3. The tablet seems quite strange since Samsung has already announced the Galaxy Tab S8. Maybe a new, higher-end model to compete with the iPad Pro?

The most intriguing is obviously the laptop in the image. Samsung may be preparing a big surprise. Hyping, right?

He said that over the next two days, Israel will send 100 tons of water purification kits, medicine, tents, blankets and other humanitarian equipment for civilians in combat areas in Ukraine and for Ukrainians trying to flee.

Bennett also spoke with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Sunday, according to a statement released by Bennett’s office.

“President Putin has noted that he is ready for negotiations,” a senior Israeli official said. “Prime Minister Bennett said Israel stands ready to help as needed and at any time to help resolve the crisis and bring the parties together. This is due to Israel’s special status and its good relations with all parties.

On the ground, Israel stands alongside Ukraine. Israeli doctors offer services to refugees across the Ukrainian border, Israeli telephone companies provide free credit to Ukrainian citizens to contact their families, and Israeli tech companies help evacuate Ukrainian employees.

On Saturday evening, thousands of Israelis, mostly of Ukrainian descent, marched through Tel Aviv to demand an end to the Russian onslaught, as City Hall was lit up with the blue and yellow Ukrainian flag. In Jerusalem, a famous Russian pub named “Putin” has removed its sign, after one of the Russian-Israeli owners said he “wants no connection with an occupier”.

Bennett, however, avoided criticizing Russia, or even mentioning it by name.

“Israelis’ hearts are with Ukraine, without a doubt,” said Yaakov Amidror, a former Israeli national security adviser. “We need freedom to operate in Syria, to contain the Iranians. We cannot ignore the fact that they are there.

Russia is Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s main backer in northern Israel and maintains a large military presence in the country. With funding and support from Iran, Syria has become a weapons station for Hezbollah, the Iranian-backed military movement in Lebanon with an arsenal estimated at 100,000 missiles and rockets.

Iran and Russia have become increasingly close allies after President Donald Trump’s administration withdrew from the Iran nuclear deal in 2018.

The outbreak of the Ukrainian conflict coincides with what Iranian negotiators have called the “finish line” of negotiations to revive a nuclear deal with Iran.

On Saturday, the Russian Embassy said its military coordination with Israel on Syria would continue, after Moscow expressed dissatisfaction with a statement by Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid condemning “the Russian attack on Ukraine”. ” Thursday.

Later Saturday, the Ukrainian Embassy in Israel posted an open call on Facebook to recruit Israelis “who wish to take part in combat actions against the Russian aggressor”.

The embassy deleted the message a few hours later.

In a statement on Sunday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he was organizing a foreign legion of international volunteers from abroad.

“They will be the main proof of your support for our country,” he said.

There are around 6,000 Israeli citizens in Ukraine, including an unknown number of men who served in the Israel Defense Forces and have said in interviews with the Israeli press that they intend to stay throughout. of the war to help fight the Russian forces. Many arrived in the country in the years following Russia’s annexation of the Crimean peninsula in 2014, according to Ukrainian Israelis who know of their presence but cannot talk about them publicly.

Israel has failed to respond to several attempts to reach out to Zelensky, the only other Jewish head of state outside of Israel whose relatives were killed in the Holocaust. Zelensky traveled to Israel several times to visit friends and family who are now Israeli citizens, as well as performing shows around the country during his previous acting career.

On Friday, Zelensky spoke with Bennett and asked Jerusalem to host negotiations between Ukraine and Russia.

“In accordance with a policy of silence,” Israeli Interior Minister Ayelet Shaked said in an interview with Israel’s Channel 12 on Saturday, “this matter is being addressed.”

During a meeting between Bennett and Putin last October in Sochi, Putin refused an offer from Bennett that Israel mediate between Russia and Ukraine, according to Israeli media.

But a growing number of grassroots groups in Israel say that as the war escalates, their government can no longer afford to sit on the sidelines.

“During World War II, many countries stood on the sidelines, at least initially, and the result was the death of millions of people,” said Anna Zharova, CEO of Israeli Friends of Ukraine, which organizes demonstrations. The organization sent a letter to the Prime Minister’s office urging him to sell the US-funded Iron Dome missile defense system to Ukraine.

The sale of the system – which during the last war between Israel and Gaza in May intercepted around 90% of rockets, according to the Israeli military – was blocked after Israeli officials expressed concern that this decision would damage relations with Russia, according to a report. on the Israeli Ynet news site last week.

“We don’t know what direction this disaster will take,” Zharova said. “But if we don’t act now, it will be written in the history books. »

In an address on state television, Putin claimed that aggressive statements by NATO leaders and economic sanctions against Moscow had forced his hand.

He said he had now ordered his military command to put Russian deterrent forces – a reference to units that include nuclear weapons – on high alert.

He said that “not only are Western countries taking hostile measures” such as “illegal sanctions”, but that “senior officials of the main NATO countries allow themselves to make aggressive statements towards our country. “.

“I order to switch the Russian deterrent forces to a special regime of duty,” Putin said.

The latest in Ukraine…

As Russian forces falter, disturbing new evidence has emerged about the amount of blood Putin is willing to shed in his quest to conquer Ukraine.

Intelligence chiefs have said he is ready for 50,000 of his soldiers to be sacrificed in the war, reports the Mirror.

The grim prediction comes as Russia’s health ministry prepares for a massive medical emergency.

Authorities are looking for doctors with a number of specialties from across Russia to come forward, according to ITN.

Medical organizations must be ready “to quickly get involved in activities aimed at saving lives and preserving the health of people in Russia”, the ministry insisted.

In a speech marking the annual special operations forces day, Putin put on a brave face.

He said there should be “special gratitude to those who heroically perform their military duty these days during the special operation of assistance to the Donbas people’s republics”.

The Russian leader was referring to the two dissident Russian-speaking enclaves in Ukraine which he recognized as independent countries.

Shells rained down across the country after the invasion in the early hours of Thursday – as the battle for the capital, Kiev, stretched into a fourth day.

The city woke up to more air raid sirens after missile attacks turned the skies orange during what Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called a “brutal” night.

And Ukrainian forces are battling Russian invaders on the streets of Kharkiv and maintaining “full control”, according to local commanders.

In another setback for Putin, a Russian special forces convoy of Chechen fighters was destroyed.

The column, comprising 56 tanks, was wiped out near Hostomel, northeast of the city, reports the Kyiv Independent.

The Russian province of Chechnya is ruled by the brutal Ramzan Kadyrov, 45, a close ally of Vladimir Putin.

The dead included General Magomed Tushaev, commander of the Chechen National Guard’s 141st Motorized Regiment, according to Ukraine’s Interfax news agency.

The Chechen soldiers are known as “hunters” and each of them is said to have received a deck of cards with senior Ukrainian officials whom Moscow wants to kill.

Special forces were pictured training in a Ukrainian forest as they took part in Islamic prayer rituals ahead of their deployment to the frontline.

As his forces meet stiff resistance from Ukrainians defending their homeland, the Kremlin strongman must be “furious” at the lack of progress, a former NATO defense chief has said.

“Putin is furious, he thought the whole war would be easy and everything would be done in 1-4 days,” tweeted Riho Terras, who is also the former commander of the Estonian Armed Forces.

He said Ukrainian intelligence believed the Russians had no “tactical plan” to deal with a retaliating enemy.

“The Russians are reeling from the fierce resistance they encountered,” Terras said.

Mr Zelenksyy’s Russian troops are “attacking everything” – including ambulances – and areas where there are no military bases.

He also dismissed talks in Belarus which he said “might have been possible” had Russia not attacked Ukraine from the country’s territory.

Previously, terrified civilians had been told to take shelter in subways and basements after dark.

Missile kit Kyiv’s main airport, Boryspil International and an oil depot also exploded in Vasylkiv, about 25 m west of Kyiv.

Residents were warned that the burning depot was emitting smoke and toxic fumes and were asked to keep their windows closed and to take shelter.

Russian missiles also hit a nuclear waste storage site on the outskirts of Kiev, the Ukrainian State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate confirmed.

People were told not to turn on lights in their homes and to stay away from windows for fear of flying shards of glass.

There were widespread fears that the Russian military would intensify its efforts to seize Kiev this weekend, targeting business enterprises in a bid to destroy Ukrainian morale.

A city-wide curfew is being enforced in the capital as authorities hunt down “sabotage and reconnaissance groups”, the Kyiv mayor has said.

As midnight struck across the war-torn country, civilians and soldiers were told to fall back before the “imminent” attack.

It marks the dawn of a fourth day of fighting as Ukrainian heroes and civilians scramble to repel the Russian invaders.

It comes after a day of fighting during which Russian troops failed to capture the capital.

The official death toll in Ukraine stands at 198, including three children.

And at least 17 of them were civilians, killed in an explosion.

The Ukrainian government insisted the Russians were not advancing with some 3,500 dead.

The UK Ministry of Defense tweeted in an intelligence update that Russian troops appear to be in decline, suffering from “logistical challenges” and heavy Ukrainian resistance.

The Ministry of Defense confirmed that Russian troops were wounded and captured by Ukrainian forces.

And Putin is said to have banned some social media from the country, in a “likely” attempt to hide the gruesome details of the Russian invasion from his own people.

Prime Minister’s adviser Oleksiy Arestovych said: “We are hitting the enemy around Kiev. The enemy does not move for the moment. »
